Johnson

Jon Hayes & The Company
The first time you hear Kalamazoo based songwriter Jon Hayes you are immediately reminded of John Mayer. With his soulful tones and a storytelling ability reminiscent of Bon Iver and NEEDTOBREATHE, this musician carries an unwavering commitment to authenticity and honesty. Developing a love of music from a young age, Jon spent his time break dancing to DC Talk, playing the flute, and creating garage bands with his brother. But after years of trying to make it while also serving as a musician in the church, he realized that music had become his God. With no sense of who he was without music, Jon gave it up. Thankfully, soon afterwards, under the encouragement of his soon-to-be wife and some deep soul deconstruction, Jon gave music another shot and somewhere on this journey of profound heartache, pride, and then humility, Jon found his voice again. He officially branched out as a soloist in 2018 and released his first single "Temporary" that same year, leading him to perform extensively around the Midwest and Northeast America taking the stages at Creation Festival and Soul Fest. His mixture of storytelling and song-craft made him a favorite among locals. And as he opened up about his childhood experience of sexual abuse, his music became a conduit of healing for many. This paved the way for more songs that delved further into his introspective themes and tender style, including his song "Nursery Lie", which reached over 10, 000 streams on Spotify alone its first six months. It was featured on prominent indie folk playlists such as Indie Folk Central and Mahogany Coffee House.

Rebel Eves
The Rebel Eves started with a "stars-aligning" type of friendship and musical collaboration. With beginnings in early 2022, the group formed from the love of creativity and the belief that the joy of connection can break down barriers that women have historically been put into in the music industry, society, and religious spaces. Composed of three Michigan bred award winning songwriters, Katie Pederson, Grace Theisen and Jilian Linklater have spent the better part of the last decade writing, touring, and harmonizing across the country with successful solo careers. With Grace and Jilian both coming out as queer in the last couple of years and Katie being a strong ally to the LGBTQIA community, it is incredibly important to the band that the Rebel Eve shows create safe spaces for this community in particular, especially in a world where their rights are being challenged and taken away at lightning speed. They wrote Heaven Without You as a way to reframe and push back on the messaging that heaven is only accessible to certain groups of people; they believe heaven can be created right here, right now, no matter who or how you love. In June of 2023 for the single’s release, they partnered with the Tennessee Equality Project, a nonprofit that is working for the equality of the LGBTQIA community in Tennessee through legislation. This year, they will be donating a portion of the proceeds from their merchandise towards the ACLU for the continued fight for the many injustices happening in the United States.

Chris Canas Band
Chris Canas “Detroit’s Prince Of The Blues” was born in July in the 1980's to Angela and Lenard. He has grown with music in his life whether it be his Mom singing to him or taking him to see Ray Charles at Hart Plaza or his Dad singing and dancing him to sleep as a kid. Music is part of his very soul and is the main reason he has grown into such a musical person today. His first true instrument was discovered when he chose a Coronet over all other instruments because he was too shy to speak up and claim the Saxophone in 5th grade. But he loved it nonetheless and treated it as if the sounds he could make were doubling as a musical release as well as a therapeutic one. Chris quickly rose through the rankings of 5th grade band only to find his music instructor David Drake promoted him to Jazz band. It was this move to Jazz that truly piqued Chris' interest in another realm of music. While in Jazz band Chris played all over eventually landing with the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts group. He primarily joined the jam portion of the group and performed at Bird of Paradise, the Firefly Club, Top of The Park, and even The Ann Arbor Art Fair on numerous occasions. He was being primed to follow in the footsteps of Miles, Monk, Baker, Parker, and Marsalis. But something happened to this young man at the tender age of 10 that was just starting to boil over. The Blues had taken him and it wasn't going to ever let him go. Chris' Uncle Jamerson rolled up in a Cherry Red T-Top Camaro while BB King’s "Thrill Is Gone'' filled the air with all his speaker systems might, and an innocent shy boy immediately began his transition into a Blues Man.
